![]() ![]() Large capacity batteries (not 3s) can cause overheating issues simply because the car is running long enough to build more heat. So, I learned a lot (:Are those hexes not clamping? That would suck. But you know what? I'm going to really consider 3rd party upgrade parts more seriously now. I quickly realized I wasted my money, and didn't even bother to install them. I realized this after installing, or trying to install, the first hex nut. So besides risk of loss in the field, you can't store your cars without the wheels on them, unless you remove those retaining pins. So if you don't have a wheel installed to hold the hex nut in place, the hex nut will just slide on the axle and the retaining pin will fall out. The issue is that they don't click into the retaining pin like the plastic ones do. Traxxas should be ashamed of itself for selling these. In other news - the Traxxas aluminum wheel hex nuts (TRA1654X, $18) I bought to replace the plastic ones ABSOLUTELY SUCK and shouldn't be sold. Well, holy Moses people!! Why didn't you tell me about those yesterday? I mean, honestly? I wanted my units to be the same, so I bought the same pads I got before - but had I known about the better ones, I would have bought those both times. This time they pointed out there is even a better upgrade option (didn't get the part number for that). The NEXT time I went in (1 or 2 days later), I decide to get the upgraded pads for the slipper clutch for the other vehicle, just to put in my parts drawer.
